Grade 3 Literature Circle

Grade 3 EFL students had their first Literature Circle meeting for Term 2. 
They read Anna and the Magic Coat
They all had a job assigned to them, which they shared during the book club discussion.

During Literature Circle meeting, EFL students engage, think and reflect as they read. They communicate, respond and share their ideas during the discussion.

Below are the different jobs.


 The Passage Picker picks parts in the story that is interesting.
Page 10 Paragraph 1
"Anna peeked at the blue sky. She undid the top button of Opa's coat, and a breeze tickled her cheek...... and a black cloud went over the sun." 


The Word Wizard looks for special or unknown words in the text.
"Words chosen were: piled, begone, peeked"


The Summarizer writes and shares a brief but interesting overview of the story.


The Artful Artist draws an interesting scene in the story
"A coat hanging by the door"



The Connector finds and records connections between:
Text to Self, Text to Text or Text to World

Text to Text: 
"I remember Harry Potter because the heavy coat of Opa was like the coat of Hagrid 
from Harry Potter"

The Discussion Director writes down questions that the group will discuss and talk about. 

They are excited to read the new story assigned to them. 
They have also chosen new jobs for next Wednesday's Literature Circle Meeting.
