Grade 2 Learning Stations

This week, Grade 2 students worked on different stations. They were given 10 minutes per stations to do the tasks.

STATION 1 

Reading Comprehension

In connection to the Grade 2 Unit about Forces and Materials, EFL/EAL students read about different simple machines, tools and their functions. They highlighted or wrote down unfamiliar words and looked for the meaning of these words from the text.

STATION 2

Editing

Daily edit is usually done as a whole class drill before the start of each EFL / EAL lessons. They discuss and look for errors in the words or sentences and correct them. 

This time, students independently accomplished the task applying the different sentence editing skills learned.

 

STATION 3

Writing / Spelling

Sentences were dictated and the student wrote it down. An activity to enhance their listening skills and practice COPS.

STATION 4

Listening / Speaking

Paired work. Students took turns reading and asking each other comprehension questions. Partners also helped each other and provide immediate feedback on pronunciation.
