Some important words related to the unit were introduced to the students during EAL / EFL class.
They watched a video about 2 healthy fruits - Apples and Banana.
This video is also a fun way to review long vowel sounds!
READING:
The story of Bonk, the Healthy Monster from Reading A-Z was a good read-a-loud. It shows Bonk's transformation from being a healthy monster to not being healthy because of his bad choices.
They enjoyed listening and looking at the interesting illustrations.
SPEAKING AND LISTENING:
They were given pictures and sorted them between healthy and not healthy. They used the sentence prompt below as they show and tell about it in class.
"This is a _______________ and this is healthy / not healthy."

They looked at some of the pictures together and decided where to put it.

In the end, they sorted out all the pictures.
They also made their own chart with the following prompts:
I eat...
I drink...
I always...
I will...
Next week, students will continue to unlock more words, play games and talk about different healthy choices.
Words this week:
healthy, not healthy, fruits, vegetables, food, water
